Dext API Access
It'd be great to have API access - please update me when this becomes available

Hi,
Thank you for your patience on this request, we are discussing this internally.
However you can use Zapier to Connect Dext Prepare to an accounting software that is not currently supported via our API, help centre article here: https://help.receipt-bank.com/hc/en-us/articles/360033470294-How-Dext-Prepare-and-Zapier-can-work-together
Best Regards,
Dom

This would be really helpful for me, is it still under review?

Hi
Dext Prepare is great. But we were hoping to use a Dext API for a custom integration to Sage 300. On other projects, we worked with payment processors that make a big effort to enable developers to easily use their APIs because that brings more business to their platform.
Current Zaps are quite limited and it's another hop and expense. More importantly, our clients don't want their images to be shared publicly and would prefer downloading in a secure channel.
Any guidance on possible API access would be appreciated. Cheers. -

We would like to have a REST API that can GET transactions based on requested searching/sort parameters. Read only API is fine for our use case. We want to integrate our custom software to the data in Dext to help us with Job Costing
I was surprised to see the Dext has no API at all

HI, We would use it for a custom integration so our platform can push bills and invoices directly into Dext and also receive information back.
As customers who use our platform use different accounting platforms, it means we can just integrate with Dext rather than having multiple integrations with each accounting platform.

It's two years later - are your internal discussions concluded yet please? If yes, what is the outcome?

Hello, having access to DEXT Prepare's API isn't just useful for connecting accounting software. We want to be able to perform analytics on those transactions published from Dext to review accuracy and whether rules can be added to vendors or need to be corrected.
As an example, If we had access to the DEXT Prepare API, we could have caught the error between Dext Prepare and ApprovalMax where secondary tax is used since we could have reconciled transaction data using Power BI.
