Customer address on Sales invoices in Dext Solo
I would like to suggest adding the ability to remove or hide the customer address field on sales invoices in Dext Solo.
From a UK compliance perspective, a customer address is not universally required on invoices. In many cases - particularly B2C work or where the customer is clearly identifiable by name - the inclusion of a full postal address is not necessary for HMRC compliance.
At present, the address is tied to the contact record and automatically appears on invoices, with no option to suppress it. This creates a few practical issues:
Many sole traders do not collect or store customer addresses
It introduces unnecessary data handling (GDPR minimisation considerations)
It reduces flexibility where a cleaner, simpler invoice is preferred
It forces workarounds (e.g. deleting addresses from contact records entirely)
A potential solution would be:
A simple toggle in invoice settings: “Show customer address on invoices”
Or, a per-invoice checkbox to include/exclude the address field
Or, more generally, lightweight template controls for field visibility
This would preserve compliance (by default) while allowing users to adapt invoices to their actual use case.
