In 10+ years of using Dext Prepare, I don't think we've ever had a client reply to a message on an item. After speaking to a tech-savvy client of 10+ years who uses the app heavily, he admitted he never even noticed the notifications. He went and had a look and said he found a message from a staff member who hasn't worked with us for at least five years.
We need two things.
1. Pop-up notifications when a user opens the app and has new messages. Maybe additional pop-up notifications would be helpful if they open the app again and haven't responded.
2. E-mail notifications to clients that they have messages waiting in Dext Prepare, with a link to open the app on a mobile or open a browser on a PC to log in, review messages and reply.

Can we have the messages going to mobile number of the user so it comes as an alert on their phone, most of our users e-mail in receipts and only ever open the app to take a picture for submission, they are not active on the app on a daily basis and have no idea the bookkeepers are waiting for a response, often for weeks casusing huge delays. Failing that if it went to their e-mail it would be checked more readily rather than relaying on them opening the app, if they have staff processing paperwork the decision makers are less likely to be on the app daily.

I feel like an alert is needed. I didn't even notice I had a message. It would be a great tool if it worked.
