  2. Accountants do not have access to clients’ bank account so clients should be able to add their own bank accounts directly. However, this access must be limited to prevent clients from carrying out any further bank-related actions.

    In particular, clients should not be able to match bank transactions to invoices, costs, or perform any reconciliation activities, as this remains the responsibility of the accountant.

    So, could you consider one of the following options, please:
    Updating the standard user role to allow clients to add bank accounts only, without granting any additional bank-related permissions; or
    Creating a new user type with…

  3. It would be great if we could add notes on Dext Solo to bank transactions, where there are no receipts, but the client has told us what they are. This would be great for our bookkeeping records.

  4. When accessing Bank > Transactions with multiple accounts connected, the system always defaults to the same account and reverts to it after navigating away. It'd be great to either have the ability to set a default bank account, or for the system to remember the last selected account across sessions.

    In our case, it auto selects our international account whilst the transaction bank account with the payment cards should be defaulted to instead.

  7. When a client says, following a "Request for Paperwork", that the Paperwork is "Unavailable", then the category should automatically be set to "Personal" (and a warning could be given to the client to this effect).

  8. Can we turn off users seeing an invoice awaiting approval if there are still approvers that need to approve before it gets to their turn to approve. Our less tech savvy boss is getting very frustrated that he gets a list of invoices awaiting approval through on his phone app but they are still awaiting the first approver to approve.

  9. when we have CIS deductions on our invoice and match it with our bank the invoice is showing as it not a 100% match as its missing what we were deducted from cis

  11. Dext is now adding a PDF of the item history to items published to QBO, along with the receipt. There’s no reason I would ever want that extra PDF, and the client and accountant reviewing the item wouldn't either. It would actually confuse some of them. Plus, many clients use payment platforms to pay their bills, where the platform attaches all images from the bill into the platform. No one wants to see that history PDF there either. I think Dext should either stop this from happening, or at least allow us the option to turn it off. Stopping it…

  12. When submitting through whatsapp you get one dext chat to submit to. However if you run multiple businesses it is impossible to submit them all in the same chat. Dext needs a separate chat per business!

  13. Edit to workflow so that when an approver rejects an item, they are required to put in a reason.

    i see a lot of items getting rejected without a reason being given, so im having to reach out to the rejecter for an explanation on why it was rejected and what needs to be changed.

    For the sake of clarity, i think there should be an option to make a approver require a reason for rejection/cancellation in order to reject/cancel.

    this would provide training opportunities for the processer, so that the same mistakes are not being made over and over.

  14. Hi Dext team,

    I would like to suggest a few improvements based on real field usage.

    Many users complete expense reports during “dead time” such as flights, trains, airports, hotels, or areas with unstable internet access. It would therefore be extremely useful to have a true offline mode allowing users to:
    - access existing reports,
    - create/edit expenses,
    - attach receipts,
    - and synchronize everything automatically once back online.

    Expense reporting is already time-consuming, so being able to optimize these moments would significantly improve the user experience.

    A few additional ideas:
    - easier multi-day trip grouping,
    - smarter mileage detection,…

  16. For MTD we need to upload bank feeds from specific dates, when linking bank, can we select the date we want the bank feed to upload into Dext. For many clients who are now subject to MTD, when linked, we get 2 years of historical transactions. This is not correct as the data should not be visible and nothing we can do about it.   18. As vault will be a fee-based add on, DEXT should allow clients to choose if they want to allow access to this. I recently had a staff of a client use vault quietly when he should have been using inbox for his normal expenses. DEXT does not currently allow me as admin to prevent him from doing this.

  19. It would be good to be able to add a column into the Archive List which shows when an item has been approved. We rely on the Archive for payment runs i.e. published between prior payment run and today, would tell us that we need to pay these invoices. However as we have workflows which push invoices to "archive" when they've been approved, means we are trusting that everything in Archive has been approved via workflow. Turns out there are exceptions that slipped through the net. This was because a user manually archived the invoice without an approval. Either can…

  20. We use Brightbooks for accounts and integrate from Dext

    There is a feature on Brightbooks where we assign purchase invoices to a department, our departments are locations of jobs where we do work. We manually assign the purchase invoices after they come across from Dext,

    i see in Dext there is a option for departments but this department function does not show the departments/divisions we have in Brightbooks.

    It would be very efficient if we could assign purchase cost to the department at dext entry level rather than having to do it again in Brightbooks
