  1. It should be possible to specify which other users' documents a given user can view/manage (as opposed to the current "all or nothing" setup).

    Let me give you a concrete example. Let’s say I have the following users in my Dext account:
    - Payables – Department A
    - Payables – Department B
    - Payables – Administration
    - User 1 – Director of Department A
    - User 2 – Director of Department B
    - User 3 – Accounting Technician
    - User 4 – Administrative Assistant

    I’d like the permissions to be as follows:

    • User 1: can submit/view their own expenses plus…

  2. Several software providers issue both an invoice and a receipt for the same cost. The documents are identical apart from being labelled either 'invoice' or 'receipt.' Can these be automatically merged since they are duplicates?

  3. We have more than 1 person and a lot of handing over in our processes rather than 1 person doing the work and 1 person reviewing it. We have people doing different parts of the process but we would like it if we could have them on the same workflow. It would be good to be able to send a workflow for review without having all the checks done.

  4. Would be great to be able to add additional columns on the Approvals Tab - similar to what is available on the 'Inbox' tab. Would make reviewing correct allocations of costs much quicker.

  5. Love the supplier statement but it never matches my credit invoices despite them being in dext. It is searching for the positive value and not the credit value even if the statement shows them as a credit amount.

On the duplicate review screen we can see the two invoices, but now that approvals are available in Dext, there is no way for the reviewer to see if the original was rejected and what the rejection reason was to ensure whatever criteria was fixed. If for instance, an invoice was rejected because it was missing information or a PO number, there is currently no flag on that review page to indicate that the original was rejected so when it is confirmed that it is the same invoice, the new submission is also now attached and automatically archived and never…

  9. In the expense claim submission process, can you add a step that adds digital signatures to the PDF coversheet?

    By virtue of the employee submitting the claim, I would like that to add their digital signature to the cover sheet, then when the manager approves it should add their signature. So when the expense claim is approved and finalized, the PDF export shows a signed coversheet.

    Also, if an expense claim gets sent back to the employee for further edits, their original signature is removed and is blank until the correct edits have been made.

  10. The Amazon Business (UK) API is automatically fetching my purchases, but it's inconsistent whether it fetches the invoice (correct behaviour) or the purchase order (incorrect behaviour). Please make it consistently fetch the VAT invoice.

  11. If you sort the approvals list by any header category and then open a specific line, when you hit the back button the sort is lost. You then have to re-sort the field again. It would be useful if the back button actually took you back to exactly where you were so you could just continue.

  13. Right now if a user is added as Standard they are quite limited. But making them a User Admin allows them to add and remove other users.

    Our auditors see this as a control issue; Xero has similar set permission roles, but allows you to check a box for allowing that person to add or remove users.

    While Dext could do a lot of granular things with permissions as seen in all the suggestions. Having an overall control to choose which users can add or remove other users is fundamental for financial control.

  14. It would be great to have the 'Match' field at the top of the 'Costs inbox' to sort items by match first. I know you can filter but that takes additional steps and excludes non-match items. Majority of other headers are selectable so adding this would be great. Screenshot attached showing field.

  15. The new prepayment feature is game-changing. Although it does need improvement, an option to split the cost over the days in which the document covers would be great (for example, is 30 day invoice period split evenly across two months, halves the amount in each period). Currently, it's not splitting the expense correctly and is a little inconsistent with the dates on the journals. The idea is really good, just needs tweaking to work to its best ability.

  16. It would be beneficial to be able to set separate smart rules for alias suppliers [eg: main phone with Telstra is 100% business, 2nd phone is also Telstra but 70% business & 30% personal]

  17. On invoice rejections, have an option similar to the supplier statements to request a revision or resubmission. Having this in dext and the ability to send it to any email address for your contact would allow us to confirm that when an item is rejected it was requested to be corrected on a certain date, and sent to a certain user. This way when a vendor comes looking for payment we have all the details with the rejection and the vendor can attach the revision right to the original to be approved again.

    Could also be applied to needed supplementary…

  18. It would be great if you could add support for dynamic field tokens in the description field — so it can automatically pull in details like the invoice number (e.g., {{InvoiceNumber}}).

    We’re a construction company working on a cost-plus basis. We attach all cost invoices to the client’s invoice and include each invoice number in the description to make things easier for clients to follow.

  19. Bills can only be split one at a time by indicating the new category, total amount, and tax amount. However some of the suppliers will provide a list of bills in one document, which requires multiple splits, and invoice number updates. It would be great to include an option to add additional splits to the initial bill with an add button on the split screen, as well as the option to update the bill number to remove the need to update it afterwards.

  20. When you go into Approvals for the first time, there is a button to take you through to setting them up in Settings. But once you have something to approve, there is no longer a quick link to setting up more. Can we have a quick link button?
