Sage Accounting sync Departments list
Sync the Departments list from Sage Accounting into Dext
98 votesHi,
Thank you for your feedback, thanks to your input we now support Departments syncing and publishing with Departments for our Sage Accounting integration.
This required us to move the integration to Sage's latest API which in turn means that for you to access this feature you will need to reconnect the Sage Accounting integration on any Dext accounts you'd like to use departments with.
Once you've done this you'll be able to find departments within of the 'projects' lists within the account. You'll notice in the integration settings that there's a new option that allows you to select which departments you'd like to be sync'd into which projects list within Dext.
Thanks again for your feedback and for helping us to improve Dext.

TPAR reporting in Quickbooks Online
Dext does not currently have the feature that can process details of the Taxable Payments Annual Reports (TPAR) for QBO integrated accounts. You also don't have the field to store the details. - this is not good enough - its just been bought to my attention on this - this is urgent that this gets looked at
6 votesHi,
Thanks to your feedback we have now implemented support for TPAR in our Quickbooks Online integration. Please ensure you have TPAR enabled in Quickbooks for the client's company and that you have enabled TPAR for that vendor in QBO. Once you've done that, you'll see a toggle for TPAR on all items belonging to that supplier and also on the supplier rules if you'd like to include all items from that supplier in the TPAR.
Thanks again for your feedback.
Kind regards,

QBO Project Visibility in Customer Dropdown menu
With the customer dropdown when integrated with QBO - using projects: it would be very helpful to have the Customer:Project show up in the dropdown list rather than having each project broken out as its own customer. We need the connected hierarchy visible.
4 votesThanks for your feedback. We have made it more clear when an entry in the customer list is a sub-customer of a given customer. All projects are sub-customers in Quickbooks Online so the new tooltip marking sub-customers in the customer list will help to identify them.
This help centre article has screenshots to further illustrate:

Integrate with QBO Projects
It would be great if we could post directly to QBO Projects!
203 votesThanks for your feedback on this issue! We have now clarified the handling of projects with Quickbooks Online. To assign an item to a project in Quickbooks select the relevant sub customer from the customer drop down on the item detail page. Sub customers are now marked with a tooltip that shows that they are a sub-customer and which customer they belong to.
This help centre outlines the process: https://help.dext.com/en/s/article/how-to-use-projects-in-quickbooks-online
Thanks again for your input.

Assign item/product (inventory) codes to invoices and publish to Xero
I would like to be able to assign item codes (ie stock/inventory) from Xero to invoices and receipts in Receipt Bank.
In particular clients in the hospitality industry would benefit from this - if they could even be extracted with line items that would be magic!
88 votesYou can now assign Products/Services in the Cost workspace and publish them to Xero

QBO Stock/Inventory Items (Products/Services) for Cost Documents
Could you please support stock items in QBO? In particular item detail for product/services on a receipt. When working in Receipt Bank there is no option for entering these products or services.
Our current process is to purchase from a supplier and put this into QuickBooks as stock items. These stock items are then removed when an invoice is created and the items taken out of stock.

Linking items in Receipt Bank to Purchase Orders in Xero
My client uses Purchase Orders in Xero to order their items. The client codes their POs and then we have to code the corresponding invoices & receipts based on this. It also means that the Purchase Order can't be processed fully through Xero. Please look into extracting a Purchase Order number on items and using that to match against existing Purchase Orders in Xero
How would I envision it working?
1. RB picks out the PO as well as the other info (or at least has a detail field)
2. Somewhere there is a matching check against a PO with…65 votes -

Marking single line item as billable
We use QuickBooks Online and need to be able to breakout which line items in Receipt Bank are billable and which are not, and also to whom (by choosing a client per line).
44 votesHi,
Thanks for your valuable input, it is now possible to mark a single line item as billable if rebilling is supported by your integration.
To do this you should select 'rebillable' on the item and then select a customer for the line items that you would like to rebill, but do not select a customer at item level. This will mean that all line items with a customer selected will be rebilled to that customer while the rest of the item is posted as normal.

Assign different tax code for CSV downloads
Can you please add the ability to change or set tax does on CSV exports. At the moment the export is built with a standard tax code which means we have to manually adjust all the items in the CSV
44 votesHi,
You're now able to set a tax list on unintegrated accounts which will allow you to assign a tax to items before exporting them. This removes the need to adjust the tax in the exported file.
You can see instructions on using the tax list here: https://help.dext.com/en/s/article/how-to-set-up-tax-rates-in-an-unintegrated-account

Support foreign suppliers in Sage Accounting
Currently when you try to publish from Receipt Bank to a supplier in Sage which isn't located in your region (in my case the UK) you cannot - there is an error message "Please select the EU Goods/Services on each item line"
In order to publish the item you have to change the location of the supplier. However, if you change the location of the supplier this would lead to VAT being incorrectly reported i.e. the transaction would be in the incorrect part of the report. This would even be more significant in reverse charge VAT scenarios for suppliers in…
43 votesHi,
Publishing to foreign suppliers should now work correctly as an issue with how exchange rates between Sage and Dext has been resolved.

Quickbooks stock control
Hi,
It would be really helpful if Dext would integrate with the stock control functions in quickbooks desktop so that incoming invoices are automatically allocated to the correct items, as opposed to general expense headings.
It's potentially one of the most important use cases of Dext for us.
Hope you guys will help us out!12 votesThe ability to associate products and services to items in Quickbooks Desktop is now available. Please make sure your Dext Connect is updated to the latest version.
Thanks for your suggestions and feedback!
