  1. The various accounts/categories are listed as columns on the right hand side. As there are more and more lines this will make the report harder to read. Can you have one column with the heading "account or category" and all the accounts listed below it? Also the columns listed as "project" & "project 2" should be classes and locations. Can this be fixed as well?

    Hi everyone, this week we released a new layout to the Expense Report PDF export which has the following improvements:

    - Categories are now summarised at the top so that the font doesn't get smaller when there are more categories

    - The font is darker and easier to read


    We are also working on this ability to choose the order of items in the expense report, as we know not having this is a frustration at the moment. 

  2. It would be really useful for me to assign items to an expense report from the mobile app - before and/or after processing. Including creating a new one

    Hey All,

    We’re very excited to announce that the whole end-to-end Expense reports flow is now available on Mobile.

    Users can now create new Expense reports, add items to already-existing ones and approve them with a few simple steps.

    Hi there,


    Good news from the Dext product team: The Sales space is now available for the Dext mobile app!


    With the latest mobile improvements, users can now access the Sales space in the mobile app, and submit sales items. You can access the sales space next to the cost space at  the bottom of the screen.

     

    When capturing an item, you can change to a cost or a sale using the dropdown in the bottom left of the capture screen. 


    For iOS users:

    The update is rolling out across all iOS users this week, and your sales space should appear shortly.


    For Android users:

    To access the new Sales space, Android users must opt-in to the newest version of the app. This Android app update also includes a host of other improvements, such as a better view of your receipts, and an archive of submitted items.

    Thanks so much for your suggestion, I am pleased to say this feature has now been released! 

    • Users with Xero integrated accounts can now publishing sales items as paid
    • This works the same as publishing a cost as paid

So the trouble with the extraction process in many of my cases is that when I take a photo of A4 receipts Dext Prepare can’t recognise the small print due to it being SNAP further away to fit all the important information it. So an idea I put forward is having a scanning feature similar to ‘Adobe Scan’ so you can crop the document and clear any blurriness so recognising the text in the extraction process for A4 documents can be done easy with out manually entering the key information.

    In the Mobile App Settings we have added 'Camera Shot Suggestions' with this turned on you can use the functionality to select and crop to to what is needed. We also look to see if it is blurry. See attachment

Since the expense report list screen has been changed, it is not harder to differentiate at a glance expense reports that have been approved vs those not yet submitted for approval as both are eligible for publishing. Please allow to search or sort by the Approval status. I want to be able to filter the list of expense reports for only those that have been approved. Another option would be to have a notification box at the top of the screen when viewing the expense report detail to show whether it has been approved. Similar to the current waiting for…

    Hi,


    We have updated the expense report screen so you can filter by approval status. After you have navigated to the expense report page, select Advanced in the search bar, and you can select the approval status you want to filter by.  You can also sort the column by status as an alternative.

    We have now added the option for you to customise the columns in an expense report on screen. You will see the cog similar to the cost or sales inbox, where you can select or de-select columns. 


    Attached is an image showing which options are available.

  8. With the customer dropdown when integrated with QBO - using projects: it would be very helpful to have the Customer:Project show up in the dropdown list rather than having each project broken out as its own customer. We need the connected hierarchy visible.

    Thanks for your feedback. We have made it more clear when an entry in the customer list is a sub-customer of a given customer. All projects are sub-customers in Quickbooks Online so the new tooltip marking sub-customers in the customer list will help to identify them.

    Thanks for your feedback on this issue! We have now clarified the handling of projects with Quickbooks Online. To assign an item to a project in Quickbooks select the relevant sub customer from the customer drop down on the item detail page. Sub customers are now marked with a tooltip that shows that they are a sub-customer and which customer they belong to.

  10. The type field is greyed out default to "invoice", unable to select "credit".

    I need the option to publish as either invoice or a credit note rather than inputting manually in accounting software.

    Hello,

    Good news, sales credit notes are now supported in Dext Prepare for Xero and QuickBooks Online.

    You can publish a sales credit note by choosing ‘Type > Sales Credit Note’ on the item detail page.

  15. The font in the report is not dark enough to read. When Expense reports are downloaded as pdf, I download to email and the recipients complain the text of the report is too faint to read, or when printed is too faint to read

    Also my criticism of the text being too light. I appreciate that the development team must address this but it would be nice to have control over report structure

    As I must email expense reports to those that approve payment, it's most concerning that they complain about the report being difficult to review. I don't like…

    We recently released a new PDF export of Expense Reports in Dext which has much darker and larger font as well as a clearer layout.


    Hopefully this solves your problem, feel free to reach out with anything else.

  16. At the moment the app only lets you take a photo and upload that.

    Please make it able to click through to an iCloud or google drive folder and add from there too.

  18. I would like to be able to assign item codes (ie stock/inventory) from Xero to invoices and receipts in Receipt Bank.

    In particular clients in the hospitality industry would benefit from this - if they could even be extracted with line items that would be magic!
