  7. Dext currently provides the ability to send reminder notifications to employees regarding outstanding credit card transactions and receipts. However, these reminders must be initiated manually and cannot be scheduled based on predefined filters or criteria.

    Recommendation:
    Introduce a workflow automation feature that enables administrators to schedule recurring reminder notifications (daily, weekly, fortnightly, or monthly) based on selected filter criteria, such as:

    Outstanding receipts.
    Missing documentation.
    Specific employees or departments.
    Transaction age thresholds.

    Benefits:

    Reduces manual administrative effort.
    Improves employee compliance with receipt submission requirements.
    Ensures timely collection of supporting documentation.

  10. It would be handy to filter each property on the tax report. This is currently available on Transaction summary but shows all categories and if using rental statements, will show the costs separate to other expenses incurred.

  11. The “Review Duplicates” feature is currently restricted to users with admin permissions. In cases where internal employees use Dext solely to manage their own expenses and are restricted from accessing wider company data, they are unable to review duplicates despite needing this functionality.
    It would be beneficial to either add “Review Duplicates” as a separate permission toggle, or include it within the standard user role permissions by default.

  14. The text that appears in costs awaiting approval is such a light coloured grey its very difficult to read. The text should be darker, or an option available to make it more visible.

    There is no reason the text needs to be such a light grey, it could be black the same as the labels or a darker grey. I have a vision impairment and need more contrast to be able to effectively read the information I am trying to approve.

  15. Would it be possible to add an option, when posting an invoice, to mark it as paid with a custom payment date (different from the invoice date)?

    In many cases, invoices are issued on one date but paid later, and it’s important for us to reflect the actual payment date accurately rather than defaulting to the invoice date.

    This would really help ensure more accurate reporting and reconciliation on our end.

  18. With secondary tax extraction enabled, two tax lines are present if the document is in home currency. When the currency is switched to foreign currency, that option disappears. There are many vendors that invoice in USD but charge Canadian taxes and we still need the two tax lines on foreign currency documents.

  19. Accountants do not have access to clients’ bank account so clients should be able to add their own bank accounts directly. However, this access must be limited to prevent clients from carrying out any further bank-related actions.

    In particular, clients should not be able to match bank transactions to invoices, costs, or perform any reconciliation activities, as this remains the responsibility of the accountant.

    So, could you consider one of the following options, please:
    Updating the standard user role to allow clients to add bank accounts only, without granting any additional bank-related permissions; or
