  1. Hi Dext,

    can we please add line details / amounts into Cash Book layout of CSV when exporting Expense Claims? At the moment, this format takes only total amounts of receipts.
    A number of our clients doesn't use software, so spreadsheet is used often. Workings with CSVs showing 3+ lines for receipts is not viable.

  2. Instead of simply putting the greyed out i symbol by sub-customers/projects, it would be helpful to be able to toggle off the Parent Customer name in the dropdown list. Despite the symbol, the Parent customer is routinely selected by users which leads to billable charges not getting onto invoices.

  3. Dear DEXT Team,
    I hope this email finds you well. I am a regular DEXT user and really appreciate your service.
    I would like to request a new feature: the ability to export receipts in the same order as bank transactions.
    Currently, it would be very helpful if receipts could be exported sequentially according to the bank transaction order. This would make reconciliation and accounting processes much more streamlined and efficient.

  4. Category & location should be pre-filled based on selected category/location from the initial review page prior to selecting "Extract line items". This will allow you to pick the category/location that applies to most/all line items. This feature exists already when pre-selecting category/location prior to selecting "create line items".

  5. I would like to be able to include the date an expense was incurred when I publish Expense Claims to QBO. This is especially important at quarter and year-end when I need to ensure that expenses are captured in the correct accounting period for filing GST/HST returns.

  6. Could you consider adding a holding zone (a kind of "purgatory" area) within the Supplier Statements section for incoming statements to be reviewed before extraction or archiving?

    They could then facilitate the use of a dedicated email address (e.g., company@statementholdingzone.dext.cc) for receiving supplier statements. From this holding area, the accountant could then choose to:
    • Send to archive – for simple statements such as single-payment summaries, or
    • Send for extraction – for multi-invoice statements that need matching.

    This would not only improve workflow and accuracy but also address the issue of statement email allocation and the additional processing…

  7. Is it possible to categorise users within an account by hierarchy or priority? When requesting paperwork, it would be really useful if Dext automatically selected the primary contact (for example, the main client) by default.

    Currently, the system seems to classify contacts alphabetically or by username, which can result in the wrong person being selected when multiple users are linked to the same account. Being able to mark one user as the default recipient for paperwork requests would help avoid accidental sends and improve accuracy.

  8. The suppliers can be edited in bulk, however, the "Mark as paid" toggle is not part of the bulk settings at the moment

  9. It would be beneficial to be able to set separate smart rules for alias suppliers [eg: main phone with Telstra is 100% business, 2nd phone is also Telstra but 70% business & 30% personal]

  10. Currently it is possible to export cost invoices in a Custom CSV Export.

    However, it is not possible to add the payment date to this table once the cost has been matched with a payment.

    It should be an option to add a column to the Custom CSV Export for the payment date.

  11. On invoice rejections, have an option similar to the supplier statements to request a revision or resubmission. Having this in dext and the ability to send it to any email address for your contact would allow us to confirm that when an item is rejected it was requested to be corrected on a certain date, and sent to a certain user. This way when a vendor comes looking for payment we have all the details with the rejection and the vendor can attach the revision right to the original to be approved again.

  12. Currently Dext only allows bank statements to be in pdf. However, some banks don't offer bank statements but allow downloading of transactions in Excel or XML format. I would like to be able to upload these into bank transactions but currently Dext only allows uploading of pdf documents.

  14. In the current Statement Reconciliation feature, Dext matches invoices from the supplier statement with invoices pulled from Xero. While it checks for missing or unmatched invoices, it does not compare the invoice amount from the statement against the actual amount of the corresponding invoice in Xero (shown in the "Due" column).

    This becomes a challenge when there's a variance in the amounts—for example:

    - A revised invoice was issued by the supplier, but the statement reflects the old amount.
    
    - The invoice in Xero shows $1,100, but the statement lists $1,000 (or vice versa).

  15. I would like to be able to Bulk Edit the Tax box within an Expense Claim please. It would save so much time on a large claim where most of the transactions are foreign currency. It's already available in the main section, so should be an easy fix to roll out in Expenses Claims. Thanks

  16. Bills can only be split one at a time by indicating the new category, total amount, and tax amount. However some of the suppliers will provide a list of bills in one document, which requires multiple splits, and invoice number updates. It would be great to include an option to add additional splits to the initial bill with an add button on the split screen, as well as the option to update the bill number to remove the need to update it afterwards.

  17. We use two integrations from Dext, being Xero and ApprovalMax for Xero, with certain costs being routed through each channel respectively. Per recent communications with Support "the merging function doesn’t currently recognize when the details are the same if they come from ApprovalMax."

    As all three platforms (Dext, Xero, and AM) rely on the same source of truth being Xero there should be a higher level of data integrity maintained between all three, rather than there being effectively three separate ledgers.

    This would also mean that inventory items (which currently work between Dext and Xero), would then also transfer between…

  18. I love the new approval feature and use this for many of my clients, however, they do not want to approve invoices that have already been paid (i.e. on Direct debits or already paid by credit card). At the moment, I can override and approve the invoices before the client but they still receive an email saying there is a bill to approve but when they login there is no bill there as I have already approved it. Is there a way around this without turning off notifications or can you build an exception to the approval workflow to overcome…

  20. Please add the ability to change the data that imports to Quickbooks desktop from the description to the PO or the ability to automatically add the PO number in that description. This information is crucial for payment and accounting processes but currently needs to be manually added in every invoice.
