  1. Reminders to approve an invoice after x amount of days... if not approved by x amount of days then moves to their manager for approval. This would take away the need to micro manage the approval workflow process.

    By default, approvers with outstanding approval requests will receive a summary email on Monday's at 9am. 


    You can change this setting any time by heading to Business settings -> Approvals -> Reminders:

  2. When i go to my approvals tab I get a listing of every bill that need approving. It would be very useful to have an option to see just the ones which are relevent for me.

  3. We have a client that approves based on which salesman is assigned to a customer/job. If we could trigger approvals based on the customer, they could stop using a competitor's software and keep all of their workflow in Dext.

  4. I just want to provide feedback that the dropdown/search item menu is popping up on the upper left hand corner of my screen instead of directly below the box I am selecting, which is significantly slowing down my workflow for selecting and clicking the item I want. Please review and move back to where it was originally. Thanks!

  5. It would be very useful to be able to set up an Approval Workflow based on the user who has submitted the expense.

    In some situations a manager of a department needs to approve the charges one of their team has made. There may be 5 receipts from Staples in Dext, but as a manager I only need to approve the Staples purchase that was made by MY admin, not the staples purchases made by other departments. Therefore, being able to set up an approval workflow that includes the submitter would separate out the Staples purchase that needs my attention…

    We recently released the ability to set up approval workflows based on the document owner of the item. You can now do this across all document types (costs, sales and expense claims).


    Go to business settings to adjust your approval workflow settings and feel free to email me directly if you have any more questions.

  6. At each stage the approver should be able to add notes when approving an invoice. There are many instances 2whent he approver will approve the invoice and give instructions to the accounting dept. For example. I am approving this invoice but please pay 50% now and 50% in 10 days of my approval etc

  7. Include all receipts to expense claims. When an expense claim is posted to QBO, it's posted as a bill with a pdf of an expense claim. Though this expense claim includes all itemized and categorized purchases, it's essential to include the actual copies of receipts as support to legitimize the dollar amounts claimed for audit and managerial purposes. If I have to manually attach every receipt, it's cumbersome and inconvenient for the viewer to open the expense claim and each additional receipt to double check accuracy.

  8. Supplier statements can only be uploaded/moved to the 'Supplier Statement' tab if the document is in PDF, which isn't always the case. Could this perhaps be subject to change in the future, allowing for image uploads?

  10. Approval Ranges would be very useful for many of our clients.

    Example: If the amount is greater than $100 and less than $15,000 User A must approve.

  11. in the old version, the option to star a client has always been there and easily accessible.
    in the new version, only account managers can do that. I'd like to be able to star clients again as a non-account manager

    You can now use column sorting in the Approvals tab in Costs / Sales / Expense claims.

  13. Approvals should be able to change the category or details that's coded to the invoice if it was incorrectly added by Dext or the person requesting the approval.

    Simply head to your Approval Workflow Settings to define which approvers can edit specific fields at each stage.

  16. Ability to flag or mark reviewed in the approval inbox invoices for final approval.

    As a QB Desktop user so many times we do a final accounting review of the invoice prior to publishing and then an error occurs and the document is not published. If we could either flag items held in final approval that need dates changed, etc. before publishing for month/year end cut offs or mark as reviewed we would not need to review every document again to try and push through again.

    Firm level users can not be added to the approval workflow so adding this…

  17. The Standard User role should have the option that the user can see other people's items. There's too much of a jump between standard and admin as the standard users shouldn't be able to change settings, add users or amend workflows

  18. Currently approvers cannot see information related to "Tracking Categories" for Line Items when approving bills unless they click on the "Edit line items" button in the details tab, which is far from ideal as this is a key part of the approval process and approval workflows.

  19. We have been submitting Rental Statements via email and direct upload to Costs so as to extract the fees as Costs. 10 days ago, due to the chnage in your Solo, these are now automativlly bee-ing sent to SALES, and we are having to manually move these to COSTS which is adding an extra step and not warranted, and makes it cumbersome. Can you review this so that when I email to the costs email, it actually goes into the costs section and not automatically into Sales. I do not want to have to move these manually

  20. It is currently not possible to view flagged items or flag an item once an expense claim has been sent for approval. We can see and select flags on items before they are sent for approval and once they have been approved but not during the approval workflow. It would be very handy to have this added so that flags can be viewed or added during the approval workflow.
