  1. Often times, book-keepers are using the search function for a specific amount.
However, for example, "$1,234.56" and "$1234.56" should return the same results.

Other platforms seem to offer this feature. It just makes sense.

  2. We have some suppliers who automatically issue invoices to our Dext invoicing email. This includes them sending payment reminders. Dext should be able to identify if the related invoice has been received and processed, and if so automatically archive or delete the reminder.

  3. A single statement supplied to my business showing income and deductions can currently only be submitted to Sales OR COSTS - yet it contains both. If submitted to sales it is then rejected when submitted to costs.
Specific to the Statement category if the item in Costs is identified as a statement there should be the option to ‘Duplicate in Sales’ (and vice versa)

  4. Allow multiple approvers of an expense claim based on the category. Expense claims may include charges that are approved by others and should be routed to them for their approval.

  5. When matching bills sometimes the VAT amount on an invoice has some items as standard rated and some as zero rated. Dext correctly works out the total VAT element but doesn't let you publish as 'extracted amount' like it does when working with Quickbooks. It has the error message Complete the Tax field for all line items and make sure their total amount matches the one of the item.' We are forced to use a fix VAT rate (I have temporarily created a mixed rate VAT rate of 10%).

So rather than using line items (which come at an unnecessary…

  7. It would be helpful for a small acknowledgement such as a small vibration when taking pictures of receipts using the app. It is too easy to miss whether the photo has been taken or not, and you often have to go back and forth between your documents and the review screen, especially with large piles of receipts.

  8. We'd like to see an Internal Delay Index, positioned as the internal equivalent of the existing Delay Days metric.

Delay Days today measures how long it takes clients to upload documents

Internal Delay Index would measure how long staff take to process documents once they are available

    Specifically:

Start point: date the document is uploaded into Dext

End point: date the document is published into Xero

    Output: average internal processing time

This would allow us to clearly attribute delays to either the client or the internal bookkeeping team and drive internal accountability.

  9. I would love to have the ability to customize/rename the field names. Specifically "Project" and "Project 2". I am using these fields to allow my employees to enter important related to "Department" and "Class" which are needed in Sage Intacct.

Ideally I would LOVE an eventual Sage Intacct integration so that these fields were automatically linked and I didn't require a manual upload. But in the meantime I am having to configure Dext to ensure I get the info from my employees that are needed for Sage inputs. Having different verbiage between the two systems will be incredibly confusing for…

  10. Feature Request – Product Unit Group Matching for Zoho Book Invoice Transfer
    Hello DEXT Team,

We are currently using DEXT to transfer invoices to Zoho Books. We noticed that during this process, product unit groups (units of measure) are not matched between DEXT and Zoho Books.

As a result, products that should be transferred with their correct unit group (e.g., “G”) are instead imported with default units (e.g., “PCS”), causing inconsistencies in our inventory and reporting.

We kindly request the addition of a feature to map or match product unit groups when transferring invoices to Zoho Books, so that the…

  11. I have had one client I have recently onboarded onto Dext and one thing they mentioned regarding expense claims seemed interesting.

They currently do their expenses manually and employees only claim £X per day on certain expenses such as evening meals whilst working away. They put the full invoice/receipt on their expenses claim, but in terms of an amount they only claim the limit of £15. A feature where you could set spending limits per category for each employee (With potentially the option to do granular levels for each employee and the option to do a blanket approach across the…

  12. I can see others have already suggested similar changes, I would like to add the VAT of 50% restriction be added to the system so it understands that part of that one line item will only be paying 50% and therefore the "out by" line doesn't reflect it being out by the restricted VAT amount.

The "publish" button is greyed out and won't publish this unless I change the 50% restriction and then edit again in QBO.

  13. Right now, DEXT only allow to match PO with an existing open PO in QBO. That doesn't work for non-QBO generated POs. Strongly request to have option to publish the extracted PO number to QBO like the document number does.

  16. I would like to request an integration between Dext and the Icelandic accounting system dkVistun (https://www.dk.is/).

dkVistun is widely used in Iceland and is the primary accounting system I use in my day-to-day work. An integration would allow documents and extracted data from Dext to sync directly into DK, eliminating the need for manual CSV exports and uploads.
This integration would significantly improve efficiency, reduce manual processing, and minimise the risk of data-entry errors. I believe it would also be beneficial for other Dext users operating in the Icelandic market and encourage consideration based on regional user demand.

  17. Sometimes employees incur legitimate, reimbursable out-of-pocket expenses where no receipt is available (e.g., small-dollar items or situations where receipts aren’t issued). Many companies allow these exceptions under their expense policies.

Currently, Dext requires a document upload for every expense, which forces awkward workarounds (writing details on paper, taking a photo, and uploading it). This adds friction and doesn’t reflect real-world workflows.

It would be helpful if Dext allowed users to enter a “No Receipt” line item within an Expense Claim (clearly flagged for review and approval) or to create a no-receipt expense (similar to mileage claims) where the amount, date,…

  18. It would be useful to be able to adapt the date of the invoice once an invoice has been approved but before it is published. This is particularly useful when month end has been locked in Xero but invoices are still awaiting approval in Dext for that month so they can be redated the following month.

  19. Currently, when a project is pulled from QBO as a subcustomer it does not line right below the customer in question, rather than in alphabetical row.

Ideally, clients should be able to decide how the list of subcustomers and customer will appear in Dext . In alphabetical order or the subcustomer right after the relevant customer.

  20. When choosing the 'Paid' option on a cost invoice before publishing, it would be beneficial to be able to choose the payment date? Sometimes this is different to the invoice date. That way, the payment transaction will hit the correct statement when reconciling the method of payment account
