Per-User Visibility Controls for Expense Documents
It should be possible to specify which other users' documents a given user can view/manage (as opposed to the current "all or nothing" setup).
Let me give you a concrete example. Let’s say I have the following users in my Dext account:
- Payables – Department A
- Payables – Department B
- Payables – Administration
- User 1 – Director of Department A
- User 2 – Director of Department B
- User 3 – Accounting Technician
- User 4 – Administrative AssistantI’d like the permissions to be as follows:
- User 1: can submit/view their own expenses plus…

Dropdown Attendee Selection for Meal Expenses
When coding meal expenses in Dext, users should be required to select attendees from a dropdown list populated with the current company user list (synced with Dext).
This is essential for compliance, as documentation of meal attendees is required for tax deductions and audit purposes.
Manual entry leads to errors and inconsistent naming, making audit preparation difficult and increasing risk. Expensify has this feature, and our team found it very effective.
Please consider adding this as a required field for all “Meals & Entertainment” expenses.

Supplier Statement Coding
Can you please add a column within the supplier statements to code directly from the details tab instead of having to go into each invoice to code and come back to supplier statements afterward?

Ability to have OCR (Optical Character Recognition) of text in pdfs that do not have selectable text.
Here’s an example of our workflow for a vendor that submits pdf invoices that have text that is not selectable:
1. Type was changed from "Other" to "Invoice" by User because the OCR system could not read the word "INVOICE".
2. Supplier name was set to "[Name of vendor]" by User because the OCR system could not read the lines under "REMIT TO:".
3. Tax was set to "GST" by User because the OCR system could not read the word GST at line 114.
4. Category was set to "Shipping and Delivery" by User because the OCR system could not…1 vote -
Practice users notifications for expense claims and invoices approvals
At the moment, when we have an approval process set up where the first step involves our internal practice users, they do not receive any email notifications when there is something pending their approval. We’ve confirmed this behavior with your support team, and understand that currently only external users receive such notifications.
This limitation makes it difficult for our internal team to stay on top of approvals, as the only way to know if action is required is by logging into the platform daily to check manually.
It would be extremely helpful if internal users could also receive email notifications…1 vote -
expense claim cover sheet signatures
In the expense claim submission process, can you add a step that adds digital signatures to the PDF coversheet?
By virtue of the employee submitting the claim, I would like that to add their digital signature to the cover sheet, then when the manager approves it should add their signature. So when the expense claim is approved and finalized, the PDF export shows a signed coversheet.
Also, if an expense claim gets sent back to the employee for further edits, their original signature is removed and is blank until the correct edits have been made.

VAT Status for Zoho Books UAE when creating supplier
When creating a new supplier in Dext for the Zoho books integration, the VAT status needs to be set before you can publish a bill. This is because the supplier has to have a tax status applied before it will accept an bills from Dext.
Currently, I have to click publish, which creates an error in dext but still creates a supplier, then go into zoho > vendors > set the VAT status/scheme and then go back to dext so it accepts the bill.

Enable Bank Match for Partial Amounts or Variance Tolerance
Currently, the Bank Match feature in Dext only allows matching when the invoice amount and the bank transaction amount are exactly the same. However, in real-world scenarios, this isn’t always the case. For example:
An invoice is for $1,000, but the bank feed shows $1,050 due to a credit card surcharge. An invoice is for $1,000, but the bank feed shows $950 because the supplier offered a discount at the time of payment.
In both these cases, the match is still valid — it's just that the final payment amount differs slightly from the invoice total. It would be extremely…

Publish To: Debit Card/Expense
There is no option to publish to a debit card or an expense. This is a huge flaw. Most people, especially small business owners use debit cards to make purchases, not credit cards. When trying to publish a receipt to have it generate into QBO, there was no correct option for me to choose. Choosing bill created a bill form which is not right. It needs to create an expense form in QBO. Most receipts if not all, are for immediately charged purchases. Choosing one of the other "paid" options rendered the service useless to me as I would then…

Allow user to add an new items to an Expense Claim directly from the mobile app without going through Costs
Please allow a user to add an NEW items to an Expense Claim directly from the mobile app without going through Costs. A user has an expense receipt in their hand at point of payment, so why not allow them to choose the Expense Claim to assign it to via the mobile APP before submission. It makes no sense to put it in the Costs Inbox first and then have to move it. Just let the user specify that it's an Expense Claim in the App!

Define supplier rule to define which document types to archive or delete and not process into the Inbox
Some suppliers using Stripe Billing have it so the emails received contain both an Invoice and a Receipt.
I would be good to either archive or delete the receipts as this can be seen as a duplicate document.

Create a % split rule for Personal and Business use where you can decide to discard the Personal amount
Create a % split rule for Personal and Business use where you can decide to discard the Personal amount so only the business % is now the total GBP amount published.
For example you can say mobile supplier is 70% business split so only 70% of the cost is processed as business use.
Workaround: manual edit the total amount.

Add the field Total amount (GBP) to the mobile app
So you can edit the extracted converted amount before its published on your mobile.

Assign Trips to Clients
The mileage isn't useful for my business at all. As we do field work for multiple clients using a company car, I don't need to claim mileage: I need to be able to assign all of our trips to different clients. Then at the end of the month, export the trips and totals per client for billing. Any chance we could get that? We were recommended Dext by another similar company but they said they never use mileage for that reason. I love the functionality of Everlance with the auto-track, tags, and reporting, but it doesn't support multiple users linked…

CSV Exports
Dear Dext, Can you please create a report showing line item, unit price, quantity, net amount, product name and the total cost. Or maybe more options for what to be included/excluded when exporting a report?

Persist the sort order in Approvals
If you sort the approvals list by any header category and then open a specific line, when you hit the back button the sort is lost. You then have to re-sort the field again. It would be useful if the back button actually took you back to exactly where you were so you could just continue.

Resubmit as multiple
We often had clients submitting lots of documents using the single upload, when infact they should have used the multiple one.
Currently we need to download the PDF (with multiple bills), archive it, then reupload again. If you have to do this for lots of items, its tedious and you need to be careful you don't miss any reuploads. It would be great to simply have a button that will resubmit the document for upload, but as multiple.
